2024 Trunk-or-Treat Photos
Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Trunk-or-Treat a huge success! The Pinkney Neighborhood Association hosted more than 250 people on Sunday, Oct. 27 thanks to the support of community members who donated and participated with a trunk.
Thank you to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital for allowing us to use your parking lot. This year’s Trunk-or-Treat collected 130 pounds of food for the Heartland Community Health Center Pantry.
A special thank you to the following groups who supported the event: KU Women’s Rowing team, Studio 804 architect students, Family Promise, Just Food, the Library’s Dottie, Police Department, and Senator Marci Francisco.
The KU Women’s Rowing team will host its 11th annual Jayhawk Jamboree this Saturday, Nov. 2 at 9:30 p.m. at Burcham Park. Show them the same support they showed our neighborhood and cheer on the Jayhawks this weekend!

City of Lawrence proposed revision to Land Development Code – comments and concerns
The City of Lawrence recently launched an effort to overhaul its Land Development Code (LDC). The LDC is the set of regulations that guide how development should occur in our community. The draft LCD is still open for public comment.
The City’s proposed LDC can be found at: https://lawrenceldc.konveio.com/
The Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods (LAN) has raised concerns regarding the proposed code. Phil Englehart, a resident of Pinkney neighborhood, prepared a statement of concerns in response to discussions of the LDC at the recent LAN meeting. The purpose of the statement is to clarify four issues in the LDC that could impact established neighborhoods such as Pinkney.
